The humidity levels remain low in March, just like in the summer months, keeping the air dry and comfortable for outdoor activities such as hiking, wildlife spotting, and beach visits, so you can fully enjoy the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island.

While March is still a relatively dry month, the transition to autumn can bring occasional rain showers. These are usually brief and scattered, offering a refreshing break from the dry weather. They generally occur in the late afternoon or evening and they often clear quickly. Swimming with Wild Dolphins at Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures

If you’re after an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for years to come, book in to swim with wild dolphins at Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures. Take a ride onboard their custom-built dolphin swim jet boat, Energizer, where they will take you to the best spots to see the dolphins in the wild.

At the beginning of March, while the weather is still nice and warm, you might have the opportunity to swim with up to as many as 50 to 80 dolphins. Once the dolphins are spotted, you can slip into 1-3 metre deep water and swim alongside them.

There is also plenty of room to relax back on the boat and take plenty of photos as the dolphins swim and play around you. 

A Scenic Ferry Experience

Before the weather starts to cool down, March is the perfect time of year to take a ferry ride to and from Kangaroo Island. Many tourists are often too caught up in the destination to sit back and enjoy the ride, which offers plenty of stunning scenery right before your eyes. The ferry takes you across the waters of the Backstairs Passage, where you’ll be treated to stunning views of the South Australian coastline and the island’s shores. You should also keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, seabirds, and even whales along the way.
